Hi!

I’m Skaraborg and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Justice. I’ve been part of the community here in TNP for over five years now and have served in various roles during that time. When I saw a lack of competition in the previous race, I decided to step forward and offer myself for the position of Justice. I believe I am more than capable to serve as a Justice and contribute meaningfully to both the Court and the region.

Legal Experience

I have previously served as a Speaker, Election Commissioner and Minister in the region. Particularly the Speaker’s Office, but also the role as Election Commissioner, require a strong grasp of TNP’s legal framework. Through these positions, I’ve worked extensively with our laws and rules. I also had the opportunity to serve as defence attorney in the case TNP vs New Chiken which was a fun and valuable experience even if I didn’t fully agree with the court’s sentencing. :)

Outside of NationStates, I studied law for three years during my time in upper secondary school in Sweden and I plan to continue studying law at University in the future. (Right now I’m mostly working and travelling!)
While Swedish law and TNP’s legal system differ in many ways, this background gives me a solid foundation in legal knowledge, critical analysis and reasoning. Combined with my familiarity with TNP law, I believe this prepares me very well for the role as Justice.

Why vote for me?

I’ll be honest, there are a lot of excellent candidates running in this race. Whether I’m elected or not, I definitely see myself running in four months time again. That said, I believe my strongest attributes are my sharp eye for detail, my commitment to diligence and my strong sense of impartiality. I wouldn’t be running if I didn’t truly believe I had the capabilities to do a good job as Justice. It would be a very fun experience and I feel ready to step up and serve the region in this important role!

Feel free to ask questions!

Your favourite hamster,

Skaraborg

What makes you decide to run now, and not in the initial election that ended with RON?
I was interrailing with friends throughout the entire candidacy period, so while I was aware that the judicial election was happening and had some interest in running, I decided to fully enjoy my holiday instead. At the time, I didn’t feel a strong need to jump into the race.

It wasn’t until after the declarations closed that I realised how few candidates had stepped forward, and I was disappointed to see it become an uncontested election. I genuinely believe I can do a very good job as Justice, so when the opportunity for a new election came up, I wanted to offer myself as an option, especially for those who may have felt unsatisfied with the original candidates.
